| Physical Description | Of just above average height, Aria has a slender but athletic frame. She has a relaxed demeanour, a friendly smile and soulful brown eyes. She has some scarring on her back from an old injury but this is completely hidden when she is in uniform although if it flares up the discomfort can be noticable in how she moves/walks to those who pay attention. Thankfully such episodes are rare. Due to her mixed heritage, Aria can be initally suspected of being younger than her years but is usually willing to take such things as a compliment. |

| General Overview | Aria has, on initial inspection, a very relaxed attitude willing to take whatever the galaxy wishes to through her way. She has a calmness and a welcoming smile, always willing to lend an ear. That aside, Aria listens more than she shares. She protects her privacy and while perfectly at ease in a crowd, is equally content in her own company. She can have a very dry, sarcastic sense of humour but as the daughter of diplomats can usually know when is the right time to speak and when to hold her tongue. When given the opportunity, she prefers to be outdoors - enjoying fresh air and wide open spaces. She follows a strict routine of exercise to ensure her physical recovery continues and often finds it a time to step back from the challenges of the day and come back at a problem with a fresh perspective. As you would expect of a former science officer, she prefers to obtain the facts of a situation, rather than take a leap of faith or trust instinct alone. |

| Personal History | Born in 2346, Aria was a child of three worlds. With a Human father and El-Aurian mother, both of whom were accomplished diplomats, Aria was born and raised on Vulcan. It was a life which regularly brought her into contact with other species, and she was fascinated by the different cultures and languages as well as the fleeting friendships she made with the children of other diplomatic staff. Such friendships were just that - fleeting. As such, she became accustomed to spending time with adults rather than children her own age, although often preferred her own company. Her favourite times, however, came when she had to go off-world with her parents and she got to experience life among the stars. For hours she would sit by a window, staring out into space while her mother told her extraordinary tales which she had heard from her own mother as a young girl. Aria could never get enough of those stories and her curiosity never seemed sated. Perhaps it was this curiosity which led to her fondness for studying the sciences. With encouragement from her parents, Aria excelled in her studies and although she briefly considered offers to study elsewhere, she made the decision to join Starfleet instead. A decision which both of her parents supported but especially her mother. Passing the entrance exam, she threw herself into her studies, becoming a popular figure at the Academy and making some lifelong friends along the way. Graduating with distinction, she was offered her choice of assignments and never looked back. What followed was a promising career, until assigned to the USS Columbia which was lost with almost all hands in 2376. Only seven members of the crew survived, and all records related to the incident sealed. For Aria, what followed was almost two years of intense rehabilitation until her return to duty in early 2378. Initially assigned to Starfleet R&D, she ultimately requested a ship assignment and was granted a transfer to the USS Eclipse. Many questions remain about what happened to the USS Columbia, as to how it ended up so off course before the fateful crash, but it is a time that neither Aria or the other survivors recall clearly nor do they discuss it willingly. For all of them, it is in the past and they are focused upon the future. For now, Aria remains focused upon her career with no interest in 'settling down'. Given her heritage, she knows she will have plenty of time to start building a family down the line and for now wants to see more of what the galaxy has to offer. |
